Specialist Feeds and Supplements
TBA are constantly on the lookout for new products to help maximise yield output. Listed below you will find a selection of new feed supplements and specialist feeds as well some of the successful established products.
F1 Yeast – TBA has been involved in the development and use of yeasts for over 15 years and has experience in selecting the correct yeast for your feed system. Whether your feeds are high starch or fibre orientated, these products work by oxygen scavenging which leads to the stimulation of fibre digestion and lactate utilising bacteria, which enables the rumen to work more efficiently. These yeasts are approved for use in Dairy, Beef and Sheep.
Typical feed rate of between 25 - 30 gms per head per day, depending on chosen product.
Mycosorb - This a patented product that is rich in Glucans that are known to absorb mycotoxins. Where mycotoxins have been identified, feeding this product has shown an increase in rumen and cow health which has resulted in approx 1-2 litres per day.
Volac’s Megalac - This product is the most used source of protected fat available. At 32 mj/kg/DM, the benefits of using by-pass energy speak for itself, and is essential in high production dairy diets.
Typical feed rate is 300 - 500 gms per head per day.
Megafat - Should your milk contract be Butterfat orientated, then Volac’s Megafat, with its very high C16 content will help deliver a higher percentage of Butterfat and can be formulated into any ration.
F1 Omega Pro X - Manufactured exclusively for TBA ltd and LSFS, this specialist high protected protein source with bonded glucose, high vitamin E and fish oils is an excellent product which can really help when DUP levels are low. With the inclusion of high quality Omega 3 oils, this product has been proven to aid in heat detection and stronger signs of bulling.
F1 Trans Omega (for transition cows) - Trans Omega is now recognised as one of the industry’s leading transition cow supplements. With its high levels of DUP combined with direct energy sources such as propylene glycol, glucose, minerals and vitamins to an extreme level (particularly vitamin E and choline chloride), this product has a major effect on the most important stage of dairy cows life. Fed with straw and small amounts of T.M.R. we can improve yield and conception to first service just by treating the cow correctly for 3 weeks prior to calving. TBA has studies from Europe and the U.S.A. and it is of particular interest to our advisors.
Typical feed rate is 1kg per head per day.
